Let’s take a look at what the Climate Change Levy (CCL) is means for your business.
WHAT IS THE CLIMATE CHANGE LEVY (CCL)?
The CCL is a tax on the energy your business uses, introduced by the UK government to encourage companies to be more energy-efficient and reduce carbon emissions.
In simple terms, if your business uses electricity, gas, you’re likely paying extra through this levy.
Think of it as an environmental nudge to make businesses greener, however, not all businesses are eligible to pay for CCL.
In addition to helping businesses understand if they're being correctly charged CCL, we can also check if a business is on the correct VAT rate too - and secure a rebate if they're not.
DO I HAVE TO PAY THE CLIMATE CHANGE LEVY (CCL)?
If you’re in industrial, commercial, agricultural, or public sectors, you will be liable for CCL.
However not all businesses are eligible to pay this.
Businesses such as Children's Homes, Self-Catering Holiday Accomodation and Hospices should not be paying CCL.
